Isla de Tabarca – Just off the coast of Alicante is a tiny island where once pirates hid out and planned their plunder of passing ships. Today tourists can play on the sandy beach without fear of a Jolly Roger taking them by surprise.

Museo de la Asegurada - Impressive former prison and munitions store, today this imposing 17th century building houses an amazing collection of 20th century art including works by Spanish greats Picasso, Dali and Miro.

Cueva de Calaveres - This prehistoric cave is situated 1.5 kilometres outside the town of Benidoleig. The magnificent cave is covered in stalactites & stalagmites, & is over 350 yards long. In places the domed roof reaches over 60 feet in height.

La Playa de San Juan - A short drive from the city centre, La Playa de San Juan is Alicante's most famous beach. 7km of golden sand stretching along the Mediterranean coast, this one of the best reasons to visit Alicante.

Museo de la Asegurada – Once a formidable prison and munitions store, this 17th century building is today a museum and reflect mans' higher consciousness with collections of art by Gris, Miro, Picasso and Dali, and the lesser-known works of Spanish painters such as Chillida, Mompo and Zobel.
